Castel is a water lover’s paradise with wide sandy beaches that are family friendly. In the Summer Vazon turns into a surfing mecca with gentle rolling waves and a popular surf school. The nearby beaches of Cobo and Grandes Rocques are also very accessible, and great spots to watch the sunset.

Around 8,800 people live in the Castel, but there are plenty of wide open spaces to enjoy leisure and sport. The parish encompasses the KGV playing fields, which is the home of Guernsey Cricket, with rugby and football also played there. La Grande Mare Golf Club is currently being renovated to create a state-of-the-art golf course set in more than 100 acres of land.

Castel is not just renowned for sport though, the parish plays host to lots of community events, including La Viaer Marchi, a celebration of traditional Guernsey culture, and the North Show, which features the famous Battle of Flowers.
