In early October, I had the pleasure of representing Swoffers Estate Agents at the Relocate to Guernsey Show in London – organised by Locate Guernsey to showcase everything our beautiful island has to offer. Now in its third year, the show has grown in popularity year after year, and 2025 was no exception. It was fantastic to see such a buzz around Guernsey and to meet so many people curious about what life here is really like.
Together with our Managing Director, Craig Whitman, we spent the day speaking to individuals, couples, and families considering relocating from the UK. The atmosphere was vibrant and optimistic – there was a genuine sense of excitement from visitors eager to discover what makes Guernsey such a special place to live.
It’s easy to see why Guernsey continues to attract attention. Guernsey offers no VAT, no capital gains tax, and no inheritance tax, as well as an open market tax cap for new residents (when purchasing a property valued at around £1.4 million within the first 12 months of residency) – an appealing prospect for those seeking a stable and efficient financial environment. Combined with excellent schools, a thriving business community, and strong transport links to the UK and Europe, it’s easy to see why so many are choosing to make the move.
